Another Big Government Over-Reach

Have you seen the new regulations that the Department of Labor is poised to enact on family farms and ranches? The new regulations would prohibit farm kids from doing chores around their family farms/ranches.

What the Hell?

I started my first job when I was 13 and I haven't stopped working since then. Most kids today have a horrible entitlement mentality. They don't work and don't want to.  They have no idea what it's like to want for things or work for things.  Except for country kids - they understand because they work every day. They help out around their family farms from an early age and consequently, learn what it is to work, what it is to achieve and appreciate.

It would seem that the current administration would like nothing better than to quash one of the last remaining places in this country where kids actually learn the value of a hard days work and the kind of work ethic that I've seen waning pathetically over my working lifetime.

So what is next?  Are they going to prohibit parents from requiring their children to do chores around the house? Are they going to say kids can't pick up their dog's poop in the yard because it's hazardous waste? Will they decree that you can't ask your kids to do the dishes because the chemicals are too dangerous?  Will asking them to clean their room become engaging in child labor abuse?

Where does it stop?
